If you remember doing a "7 Minute Workout" inside FitStar or Fitbit Coach years ago and went looking for it again, you will not find either app anymore. Here is what actually happened to it, and a free 7 minute workout you can start today without an account migration or a subscription.
Is Fitbit Coach still available?
No. Fitbit Coach's own App Store listing (app id 535640259) no longer resolves; it returns a 404 not found error as of this writing. That is consistent with a broader change: starting May 19, 2026, the main Fitbit app itself stopped working under that name and was replaced by a new app called Google Health, which folds Fitbit tracking into Google's wider health platform. Accounts that were not migrated by July 15, 2026 were deleted, and Fitbit's legacy web API is scheduled to retire in September 2026. There is no separate "Fitbit Coach" app to download anymore.
What was FitStar, and where did the name "7 Minute Workout" come from?
FitStar Personal Trainer launched in 2013, built by a San Francisco startup founded the year before. It offered personalized bodyweight training led by video coaching, and shipped nearly 30 standalone "Freestyle" sessions you could do without the full personalized program, including one literally named "7-Minute Workout." The app won an Apple Editors' Choice Award and was named an App Store Best of 2013 and 2014 pick.
Fitbit acquired FitStar in March 2015, in a deal reported at $25 to $40 million, to add guided training to its fitness tracker ecosystem. FitStar Personal Trainer was later rebranded as Fitbit Coach, a paid subscription app offering custom bodyweight, running, and walking workouts that adjusted based on your feedback and goals.

What replaced Fitbit Coach?
If you still have a Fitbit account, the successor is Google Health, which introduced a Gemini-powered "Google Health Coach" that gives guidance on workouts, sleep, and recovery. Google Health Premium is currently listed at $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year on the US App Store. That gets you an AI coaching layer inside a much larger health and sleep tracking platform, not a quick standalone 7 minute session.
