8fit 7 Minute Workout Alternative

Update note: We review this page to reflect current app availability and shutdown timelines.
8fit, the workout and meal planning app owned by Withings, is shutting down. If you used it for short, no-equipment HIIT sessions and want a replacement before your subscription ends, here is what 8fit actually offered, real screenshots from its final App Store listing, and a free 7 minute workout alternative you can start today.
Is 8fit shutting down?
Yes. According to 8fit's own support site, the service ends on June 26, 2026, and the app can no longer be used after that date. Withings, which acquired 8fit in February 2022, says the shutdown lets it concentrate on the Withings app and Withings+ service instead of running 8fit as a separate product. Existing subscriptions continue until they expire, then end automatically with no further billing. Accounts are not automatically transferred to Withings+; you would need to create a separate Withings account to use that ecosystem instead.
What was 8fit?
8fit combined two things in one app: custom HIIT and bodyweight workout plans, and a meal planner with recipes filtered for diets like paleo, vegan, and vegetarian. Sessions ran 15 to 20 minutes and were designed to need no special equipment. The Pro tier, which unlocked full workout programs and meal plans, was sold as a subscription (3-month or annual terms), with a free tier offering a smaller set of workouts. It also synced with Apple Health and Apple Watch.
The screenshot above shows 8fit's guided interval timer: a video demo, a countdown, and a "next exercise" button, similar in spirit to a 7 minute HIIT circuit but delivered through a paid program rather than a single free routine.
This second screen shows how 8fit structured a session: a set time budget (10 minutes in this example), an estimated calorie burn, and a numbered list of moves to cycle through for that duration. It is a heavier planning layer than a fixed 7 minute circuit, which is part of why some 8fit users are looking for something simpler now.
Quick comparison: 8fit versus a free 7 minute workout alternative
| 8fit feature | What you got | How 7 Minute Workout compares |
|---|---|---|
| Custom workout and meal planner in one app | Personalized HIIT plans plus diet-filtered recipes | Workout only, no meal planning; pair it with a separate nutrition app if you want that side covered |
| 15 to 20 minute sessions, subscription Pro tier | 3-month or annual billing for full plans | Free 7 minute HIIT circuit, no purchase required to start |
| App-based video demos and timer | Follow along on your device | Native app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV, with Apple Health sync |
If meal planning was the main reason you used 8fit, switching apps will not replace that half on its own. This comparison is about the workout side, where a free, no-equipment HIIT circuit is a close, lower-friction substitute.
Will my 8fit workouts carry over to Withings+?
Not directly as workout programs. 8fit's own FAQ says nutrition content and recommendations move into Withings+, but it does not promise the same continuity for workout plans. Data synced through Apple Health (weight, activity, heart rate) stays in your Apple Health account regardless of what happens to 8fit itself, so that history is not lost either way.

If you want a guided HIIT session that does not depend on a subscription staying active, our classic 12 move circuit runs on the same 30 seconds on, 10 seconds off structure. See the original 7 minute workout explained for the full move list, or start with a no equipment 7 minute workout if that was what you liked most about 8fit.
Guided intervals, video demos, and Apple Health sync, no purchase required.
