7 Minute Workout Gets a Big Apple TV Redesign
By Stuart Hall · Last updated: August 9, 2026
7 Minute Workout just shipped its biggest Apple TV update in years. Version 2.0.0 brings a full visual redesign to the tvOS app, along with the same workout library already available on iPhone and iPad, so the whole 7 minute experience now works from the couch on the biggest screen in the house.
What is new in this update
The release notes for version 2.0.0 put it simply: "The whole new redesign is here. We've brought all of our workouts to Apple TV." The Apple TV app had not seen a redesign of this size since it first launched, so this update brings it in line with the modern look of the iPhone and iPad app rather than an older, separate interface.
What the redesign brings over from iOS
- The full workout library: the same routines available on iPhone and iPad are now on Apple TV, not a cut down version.
- Voice guidance: each exercise is called out so you do not need to watch a timer on screen while you move.
- Video demonstrations: every exercise includes a video demo and clear instructions, useful on a screen everyone in the room can see.
- Choice of trainer: switch trainers from Settings, the same option available on the phone and tablet app.
- Streaks and history: your streaks and workout history sync with your iPhone and iPad if you use the app there too, so a couch session counts the same as any other.
What it looks like on Apple TV
The new tvOS design carries over the same look as the iPhone and iPad app: a Workouts, Progress, and Settings tab bar, colorful workout cards, and full screen exercise cues designed to be read from across the room.
Still no equipment needed
The format has not changed: 12 bodyweight exercises, 30 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest between each, for a full body HIIT workout in about 7 minutes. On Apple TV that means starting a workout with the remote and following along on the big screen, with no mat, weights, or gym membership required.
Pro subscribers also get the same extras on Apple TV as on iPhone and iPad, including additional routines like Pilates, Cardio, Core, Booty, Arms, and Toning, plus the ability to set your own exercise duration, rest time, and number of sets.
One purchase, every device
7 Minute Workout and its Pro upgrade are a single purchase tied to your Apple ID, not a separate buy per device. iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and now Apple TV all run from the same App Store listing and the same Pro subscription, so unlocking Pro on one device unlocks it everywhere you use the app.
In practice that means you can start a streak on your iPhone, check today's workout on Apple Watch, and finish a session on Apple TV without buying anything twice or setting anything up again. Your Pro status, and your streaks and workout history, travel with your Apple ID across all four.
How to get the update
If you already have 7 Minute Workout on Apple TV, open the App Store app on your Apple TV and check for updates, or turn on automatic updates in tvOS Settings. If you do not have it yet, you can install it directly from the App Store.
The full 7 minute workout, now on the big screen.
